It is a nice place to grab coffee if you are at the area. It is a bit pricey (almost 8$ for oat milk vanilla latte), but the coffee quality is good. With all the wood furniture, shelves and shelves of books, and more secluded sitting areas, it offers a welcoming atmosphere. For me, the inside area was a bit noisy (with somewhat loud music and chatting), and I found the outside area to be quieter. The place itself is easy to find and there is much available parking around it.
I enjoy this place and their drink options. It's cool that there's a bookstore there. My spicy chai was filled to the brim, and it took some time for me to carry it to my table, walking in low heels. I didn't spill! It's a good place for meetings. I wouldn't call it cozy, but it's a nice place.
My favorite coffee and breakfast burrito stop on the way to work, right off Highway 93. Love their seasonal drinks (eggnog latte right now) and the cozy used-book-store atmosphere. ☕️📚🌯
Busy place for good reason! Good coffee and great atmosphere that fits your core Colorado vibe.
Amazing environment. It's so lively especially on weekends. Bonus points for chess tables, you can spend some quality time having one of their amazing signature lattes, my favourite being the hazelnut latte. I would visit and revisit until my time in Colorado.
Love this place! Very quiet and chill. Nice to go read a book or get some work done. Very great coffee and food! I had a panini, they also have great burritos from a local place in Golden called Bonfire Burritos. Very enjoyable employee's and lots of great books to read! Highly recommend
Slightly pricey but decent drip coffee, lots of seating and shelves upon shelves of books to peruse! Wonderfully quiet and study-conducive. A very pleasant establishment overall!
First off, "atmosphere" needs 10 stars. The vibe of this place is what sets it apart from other independent local coffee shops in the area. I have been frequenting this coffee shop/used book store since 2011 and I am so glad to see it solidified as a business in Golden. Their coffee is my absolute favorite ever. It has great flavor without tasting burnt (ahem, big chain that rhymes with car shucks). I usually just go for a standard latte anywhere else, this is the only coffee shop where I get flavorings added because it's not just sickenly sweet syrup. Their spiced maple latte is amazing, blows pumpkin spice out of the water, and their peppermint latte is also a great seasonal flavor. But if any sort of flavorings aren't your thing, their stand alone coffee is quite good. The used book part of the place is fun too, I have bought far too many unneeded books just browsing while waiting for my drink and it's a constantly varying selection. They have a wide selection of seating to accomodate everyone. Want to read while enjoying your coffee? They've got couches and lounge chairs. Need to get some work/studying done? They have tables with actually comfortable chairs. Want to work but computer is short on batter life? They have a very long countertop right under their windows with plenty of power strips and practical seating. Yes, they have music, but it's quieter background music and it's generally a more mainstream sound vs. the louder indie stuff most local shops feel the need to blast for some reason. Whenever I go there it's to just get out of the office and get some work done with a change of scenery and good coffee. The place is always busy but never loud. You hear the quiet buzz of conversations but never hear people being loud or obnoxious. Order a coffee and stay all day. They willingly share their wifi password if you need it so long as you buy something. I am not of the generation/age where the "vibe" drives my decision, but let me tell you what, the "vibe" here is warm, calm, relaxing, and welcoming. I love it here and come whenever I am anywhere nearby. Give this place a shot, you won't be disappointed.
